SPC 1200Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1044
PM CST Thu Jan 24 2019
Valid 251200Z - 261200Z
...NO THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY... Thunderstorms are not expected across the U.S. Friday
through Friday night.
...Discussion...
In the wake of a cold front moving off the FL Peninsula, a large
area of high pressure will continue to build southward through the
central and eastern U.S. maintaining offshore winds over the Gulf
and stable conditions inland.

SPC 0700Z Day 2 Outlook
Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1112
PM CST Thu Jan 24 2019
Valid 261200Z - 271200Z
...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY... A few thunderstorms may be noted across deep south
Texas Saturday.
...South TX...
Short-wave trough along the Pacific Northwest coast is forecast to
dig southeast across the Great Basin during the day1 period then
into northern Mexico by mid day Saturday. This feature is expected
to induce a weak inverted surface trough over the western Gulf basin
which will encourage warm advection inland as far northwest as deep
south TX. Forecast soundings across this region suggest mid-levels
will moisten as ascent increases across this region. Resultant
profiles exhibit weak elevated instability that should prove adequate
for convection rooted around 800mb. Expected buoyancy may be enough
for a few lightning strikes with the strongest elevated convection.
...MAXIMUM RISK BY HAZARD... Tornado: <2% - None Wind: <5%
- None Hail: <5% - None

SPC Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook
Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1245 AM CST Fri Jan 25 2019
Valid 251200Z - 261200Z
...NO CRITICAL AREAS...
...Synopsis... Most of the CONUS will be under the influence
of broad areas of surface high pressure from the Intermountain
West eastward to the western Atlantic. A stout offshore pressure
gradient will result from this synoptic pattern across coastal ranges
of southern California, with critically low RH values (12-20%),
warm surface temperatures (60s and 70s F), and gusty northeast
winds (exceeding 20 mph at times) supporting locally elevated
fire weather. Recent rainfall precludes a higher fire-weather
threat due to non-cured fuels in many areas, however. As such,
no highlights will be introduced for this forecast.

SPC Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1245 AM CST Fri Jan 25 2019
Valid 261200Z - 271200Z
...NO CRITICAL AREAS...
...Synopsis... A 1035 mb high will remain in place over the Great
Basin D2/Sat, keeping offshore flow in place across portions of
southern California and dry, northerly flow in portions of the Lower
Colorado River Basin. Fuels in these areas will still likely not
be cured from recent rainfall - particularly in southern California.
Elsewhere, relatively cool/cold conditions will persist across much
of the central and eastern CONUS, with minimal fire weather concerns.
Thus, no fire weather delineations will be made for this outlook.
