The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of Parts of central, east central and
south central Alabama
* Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 945 PM until
400 AM CST.
* Primary threats include... A few tornadoes possible Scattered
damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events
to 1 inch in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Bands of thunderstorms will continue to move eastward
overnight along and ahead of a cold front. The storm environment
will remain favorable for both supercells and bowing segments,
capable of producing a couple of tornadoes and damaging gusts
through the early morning hours.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles
east and west of a line from 10 miles east northeast of Gadsden AL
to 55 miles west southwest of Troy AL. For a complete depiction of

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable
for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the
watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and
possible warnings.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of Western and northern Alabama Far
southeast Mississippi Far southern middle Tennessee
* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 345 PM until
1100 PM CST.
* Primary threats include... A couple tornadoes possible Scattered
damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
SUMMARY...A line of strong to locally severe thunderstorms should
progress east from northeast and central Mississippi across
west-central and northern portions of Alabama into far southern
Tennessee this evening, offering a risk for damaging winds and a
couple tornadoes. An additional cluster of strong to severe storms
over southwest Mississippi may eventually spread east towards
southwest Alabama.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles
east and west of a line from 85 miles south southeast of Meridian
MS to 50 miles north northeast of Muscle Shoals AL. For a complete

* LOCATIONS... Central Mississippi Central and northern Louisiana
Far western Alabama
* HAZARDS... Several tornadoes, a few intense Widespread damaging
winds Isolated large hail
* SUMMARY... Numerous to potentially widespread severe thunderstorms
are anticipated across parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley
and Deep South with tornadoes and damaging winds as the primary
hazards. The peak tornado risk is expected through early evening,
centered on northern and central Louisiana into central Mississippi.
Preparedness actions...
Review your severe weather safety procedures for the possibility
of dangerous weather today. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio,
weather.gov, or other media for watches and warnings. A tornado watch
means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form during the
next several hours. If a tornado warning is issued for your area,
move to a place of safety, ideally in a basement or interior room
on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

FLORIDA TO COASTAL NORTH CAROLINA...
...SUMMARY... A few strong to locally-severe storms will be possible
from portions of northern Florida to eastern North Carolina Tuesday.
...Discussion...
Large-scale height falls will spread across the eastern portions
of the US during the day1 period as a pronounced positive-tilt
trough sags southeast to a position from OH - western TN - TX by
late afternoon. As this occurs, a weak surface low should translate
northeast along a cold front across the central Appalachians to
off the southern New England Coast at 18/00z.
Boundary-layer moisture is a bit meager across the warm sector
over the southeastern States late this evening and appreciable
instability will be limited early in the period, likely holding
near the coast prior to frontal passage. Farther south, upper 60s to
near 70F surface dew points are expected to spread across northern
FL which should result in a more buoyant environment favorable
for potentially robust updrafts. Even so, low-level shear will
weaken through the period, though high-level flow will be more than
adequate for sustained, potentially rotating updrafts. Convection
should readily develop across low latitudes due to the expected
buoyancy and there is some concern that a few severe thunderstorms
may ultimately materialize along/ahead of the cold front. Will
maintain MRGL Risk across this region but some thought has been
given to higher severe probs where low-level moisture is forecast
to be in place prior to convection. This region will be monitored
for possible higher severe probs in later outlooks.
While stronger shear will be noted across the Carolinas, there
is some concern that instability will ultimately be too weak to
justify higher severe probs. This region, too, will be monitored
for possible SLGT Risk if buoyancy is greater than expected.

...SUMMARY... A few thunderstorms are possible across South Florida
through midday Wednesday. Severe storms are not expected.
...Synopsis...
The upper trough over the eastern U.S. Wednesday morning will shift
eastward into the western Atlantic waters by the end of the period.
A surface cold front will extend from a low off the Nova Scotia
coast will arc southwest across southern FL and the Bay of Campeche.
A few showers and thunderstorms may be ongoing Wednesday morning
across parts of southern FL into the Key and Florida Straits. While
mid 60s to low 70s dewpoints will be in place and contribute to
weak instability, poor lapse rates and weak shear will preclude
severe storm concerns. Strong surface high pressure will provide
stable conditions across much of the rest of the CONUS and little
thunderstorm activity is expected elsewhere.

...Synopsis... An area of strong high pressure in the Great
Basin/Central Rockies is supporting offshore flow across most of the
West Coast. However, this offshore flow is cool and not that dry,
which combined with mostly moist fuels, precludes any appreciable
large fire threat. Some dry and breezy conditions will be possible
in southwest Arizona with relative humidity 15 to 20 percent and
winds 15 to 20 mph, but sparse and marginally dry fuels across this
region will limit the fire weather concerns. Elsewhere in the CONUS,
cool and/or wet conditions will dominate which will suppress any
significant threat for large fires.

trough will move into northern California which will bring wetting
rains and mountain snow from central California into the Pacific

any fire weather concerns.
