...SUMMARY... Thunderstorms are not forecast across the contiguous
United States today.
...DISCUSSION... An upper-level trough will move eastward from
the Mississippi Valley to the Eastern Seaboard today. Another
upper-level trough will dig southeastward into the northern Rockies
as a shortwave ridge moves into the Great Plains. At the surface,
cold and dry high pressure will dominate the central and eastern
states. This will limit thunderstorm potential across the continental
U.S today and tonight.

...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY... Organized severe thunderstorms are not forecast
across the contiguous United States on Sunday.
...Synopsis... A split-flow pattern will feature a mid-level speed
max over the OH Valley/Great Lakes with a cyclonic flow extending
upstream into the Canadian Prairie provinces. A mid-level trough
along the West Coast will evolve into a closed low west of the
southern CA coast by early Monday morning. A surface cold front
is forecast to move south over the central/southern Great Plains
while southerly low-level flow transports moisture northward into
TX/OK and the ArkLaTex. Widespread clouds are forecast over the
ArkLaTex by late in the day with showers and a few storms expected
to preferentially develop near the front over OK during the late
afternoon/evening. Farther south and east, showers/thunderstorms
are forecast to develop and become more numerous during the evening
into the overnight from eastern TX into the lower MS Valley, aided
mostly by low-level warm air advection. Model guidance continues
to suggest weak instability will likely preclude the development
of storms capable of large hail.

The bone-chilling scream split the warm summer night in two, the first half
being before the scream when it was fairly balmy and calm and pleasant,
the second half still balmy and quite pleasant for those who hadn't heard
the scream at all, but not calm or balmy or even very nice for those who
did hear the scream, discounting the little period of time during the actual
scream itself when your ears might have been hearing it but your brain wasn't
reacting yet to let you know.
