SPC 1200Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1124
PM CST Fri Feb 01 2019
Valid 021200Z - 031200Z
...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY... Isolated lightning strikes are possible across
eastern Florida and over portions of central California today. No
severe weather is expected.
...DISCUSSION... An upper-level low will approach the northern
coast of California today. A few lightning strikes will be possible
across central California as large-scale ascent moves inland ahead
of the low. Further east, an upper-level trough will move across
the Southeast. A moist airmass will be in place ahead of the trough
across the Florida Peninsula. A few thunderstorms could develop in
eastern Florida near a surface trough. No severe threat is expected
in these two areas mainly due to weak instability.

SPC 0700Z Day 2 Outlook
Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1105
PM CST Fri Feb 01 2019
Valid 031200Z - 041200Z
...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY... Strong thunderstorms are not forecast on Sunday over
the contiguous United States.
...Synopsis... A mid-level shortwave trough will quickly move
from the Great Basin into the Upper Midwest. Farther upstream,
a mid-level low and associated trough will slide south along the
Pacific coast. Shallow convection over western CO and in parts
of northern and central CA may yield a few lightning flashes.
Limited instability will preclude strong storm development.
...MAXIMUM RISK BY HAZARD... Tornado: <2% - None Wind: <5%
- None Hail: <5% - None

SPC Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook
Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1203 AM CST Sat Feb 02 2019
Valid 021200Z - 031200Z
...NO CRITICAL AREAS...
...Synopsis... A strong upper-level trough will move onshore in
California with broad height falls aloft stretching across much
of the western CONUS on Saturday. A weak upper-level shortwave
trough will also traverse over Texas into the Southeast with the
polar jet strongest along the US/Canadian border and over the
Northeast. Zonal cross-mountain flow will result in weak downslope
winds and lee troughing across portions of the central/southern High
Plains. This should result in locally elevated conditions across
portions of western Nebraska/vicinity and northeast New Mexico/Texas
Panhandle on Saturday. Westerly sustained surface winds of 10-20 mph
with RH values of 15-25% are expected during the afternoon across
these areas. The driest air (RH values of 8-15%) is likely to be
across eastern Colorado, displaced from the stronger surface winds,
limiting the potential for widespread elevated conditions.
