The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of Far southwest Arkansas Far southeast
Oklahoma Northeast Texas
* Effective this Wednesday night from 655 PM until Midnight CDT.
* Primary threats include... A couple intense tornadoes possible
Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
SUMMARY...A supercell may persist east along the Red River with an
additional supercell or two possibly developing south into northeast
Texas this evening.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles
either side of a line from 40 miles west of Shreveport LA to 5
miles northwest of De Queen AR. For a complete depiction of the

East Texas
* Effective this Wednesday afternoon from 500 PM until Midnight CDT.
* Primary threats include... A few tornadoes likely with a couple
intense tornadoes possible Scattered damaging winds likely with
isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Scattered large
hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 2.5 inches in
diameter possible
SUMMARY...Multiple supercells and clusters will evolve east this
evening within an environment conducive to potentially intense
rotating storms.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 75 statute
miles north and south of a line from 40 miles north northwest of
Huntsville TX to 35 miles north northeast of Alexandria LA. For a

* Tornado Watch for portions of Southern Oklahoma North Central Texas
* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 235 PM until
900 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include... A few tornadoes likely with a couple
intense tornadoes possible Widespread large hail and scattered very
large hail events to 3 inches in diameter likely Scattered damaging
wind gusts to 70 mph likely
SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to intensify along a dryline
and track across the watch area this afternoon and early evening.
Supercell storms capable of very large hail and a few tornadoes
are possible.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles
east and west of a line from 45 miles north northeast of Ardmore
OK to 10 miles southeast of Dallas TX. For a complete depiction of

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 135 continues.
SUMMARY...New storm development across east-central TX may strengthen
into supercells capable of all severe hazards.
DISCUSSION...Surface convergence has resulted in additional
development across east TX. This area is well ahead of the dryline
moving through north-central TX and south of the warm front extending
through north-central LA southwestward into southeast LA. The air
mass ahead of this new development (i.e. from east-central TX into
west-central LA) is unstable, suggesting the potential for storm
intensification and maturation. Surface winds are a bit weaker
and more veered than areas farther east but low/mid-level winds
remain strong, leading to large low-level hodographs and strong
deep-layer shear. As such, there is some potential for additional
storm maturation into supercells capable of all severe hazards. Main
uncertainty regarding storm maturation is the effect of ongoing
nocturnal stabilization.

...THERE IS AN ENHANCED RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM FAR EAST
TEXAS ACROSS LOUISIANA AND INTO SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI...
...SUMMARY... Severe storms capable of producing large hail,
damaging winds, and a few tornadoes will continue this evening from
southeastern Oklahoma and portions of eastern Texas into Louisiana.
An organizing cluster of storms should then continue overnight into
the lower Mississippi Valley with continued severe risk.
...Discussion... Several clusters of strong/severe thunderstorms are
ongoing at this time, ahead of a surface cold front advancing across
the southern Plains, trailing from a northeastern Oklahoma low.
The warm sector from east Texas eastward into Louisiana remains
characterized by a moist boundary layer and moderate instability,
with 1500 to 2500 J/kg mixed-layer CAPE across this area. As a warm
front lifts gradually northeastward across the lower Mississippi
Valley, the warm sector will gradually advance into southern
Mississippi tonight.
A cluster of severe storms continues advancing across far southeast
Oklahoma and adjacent northeastern Texas. While additional
development may occur across northeastern Texas, probabilities are
being reduced at this time across Arkansas, where a much more stable
airmass exists.
Farther south/southeast, strong/severe storms are ongoing, from
eastern Texas into central Louisiana, with an organizing cluster
of storms capable of producing damaging winds and hail approaching
southwestern Mississippi. Meanwhile, a large/long-track supercell --
with a history of producing tornadoes -- is currently crossing the
Sabine River and moving into western Louisiana. Near and ahead
of this storm is where the greatest severe risk persists in the
shorter term, including potential for significant tornadoes.
With time, expect damaging wind/hail risk to increase across
Louisiana and the southern half of Mississippi, continuing through
the overnight hours.
