The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Far Southeast Kansas
Southwest Missouri
* Effective this Monday night from 835 PM until Midnight CDT.
* Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70
mph possible A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...A low-topped supercell or two and a more prevalent band
of storms will move northward across the region this evening.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles northwest of
Joplin MO to 25 miles east northeast of Monett MO. For a complete

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of South-central and
South Texas
* Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 750 PM until
400 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70
mph likely Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events
to 2.5 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Isolated supercells are expected through the
early/mid-evening hours particularly across the Rio Grande Valley,
with large hail as the primary initial threat. A cluster of
east/southeastward-moving storms should evolve later this evening
into the overnight with a damaging wind threat increasing across
the region.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75
statute miles east and west of a line from 70 miles northeast of
Del Rio TX to 30 miles west southwest of Mcallen TX. For a complete

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 226 continues.
SUMMARY...An isolated tornado and wind damage threat will likely
continue for a few more hours. The storms will move northward
toward the edge of WW 226. Although weather watch issuance is not
anticipated to the north the current watch, the situation will
continue to be monitored.
DISCUSSION...The latest radar imagery shows a band of strong
thunderstorms located from far northeast Oklahoma extending
southeastward to near Fayettville, Arkansas. Isolated
discrete cells are ongoing to the north of the line with one
having a history of producing tornadoes just to the west of the
Arkansas-Missouri-Oklahoma state line intersection. The RAP continues
to show moderate deep-layer shear across northeast Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas with 0-3 km storm relative helicities estimated
in the 200 to 250 m2/s2 range. The wind profile continues to support
a tornado threat with small supercells that develop to the northeast
of the northwest-to-southeast band of storms. A wind damage threat
will also be possible with supercells and with this band as well.

...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER MUCH OF
SOUTHERN TEXAS...AND OVER PARTS OF THE OZARKS...
...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are expected this evening
into tonight across much of southern Texas, with damaging wind and
hail. Additional severe storms remain possible across portions of the
Ozarks through this evening, the main hazard being a brief tornado.
...Much of southern TX... Several intense cells persist as of 01Z
across the Rio Grande Valley, likely producing damaging hail. Storm
coverage will increase tonight as the shortwave trough digs south,
and substantial large-scale lift is incurred. Linear forcing along
the developing cold front as well as an eventual merging of outflow
may result in an MCS producing damaging winds. Capping appears
relatively minimal for this region with storms reaching the coast
before 12Z.
...Eastern OK, western AR, southwest MO area... Multiple arcing
lines of storms persist from northern LA across AR and into northeast
OK in association with a midlevel wave. Ahead of these storms, a
moist and unstable air mass remains which should sustain them for
several hours. Low-level shear will remain favorable for rotating
storms and a brief tornado as 850 mb winds increase to 50 kt out
