...NO THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY... Thunderstorm chances are negligible across the
continental United States.
...Synopsis... Broad cyclonic flow aloft continues to dominate
the upper pattern across the northwest U.S, with an embedded
mid-level impulse traversing the Pacific Northwest. Deep-layer
ascent associated with the passing trough, combined with scant
buoyancy in place has promoted a few lightning flashes so far
across southeast Washington. However, any left over buoyancy is
expected to diminish with nocturnal cooling over the next few hours,
with thunderstorm potential subsiding. Given the short-term and very
isolated nature of the thunderstorm threat, the general thunder line
has been removed, though a lightning flash or two remains possible
across portions of the Pacific Northwest into the northern Rockies.
