...NO THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY... The risk for thunderstorms remains negligible across
the continental U.S. for the remainder of the day.
...Synopsis... A surface cold front continues to advance towards
the Appalachians, and is poised to reach the Atlantic by the end
of the period. A mid-level trough, preceded by very scant buoyancy,
is also traversing the Interior West and northern Plains states. In
both regions, deep-layer ascent and very limited buoyancy may promote
an additional lightning flash or two before 12Z Thursday. Otherwise,
overall cool and stable conditions will limit thunderstorm potential
across the rest of the CONUS.
