* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Western North Texas
* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 935 PM
until 200 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Multiple supercells producing large hail should move
across a portion of western North Texas through midnight,
potentially merging with a longer-lived cluster producing damaging
winds that should spread southeast.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles northwest of
Wichita Falls TX to 105 miles south southwest of Wichita Falls TX.

* Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 340 PM until
1100 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Although deep-layer winds are not overly strong, a
semi-moist and moderately unstable environment will support
initially isolated severe thunderstorm development across southeast
Colorado, northeast New Mexico into the Texas Panhandle. Isolated
large hail is the primary risk initially. Over time, one or more
clusters of storms should evolve by early/mid evening and move
east-southeastward with increasing damaging wind potential across
the Texas Panhandle toward the Low Rolling Plains.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 105
statute miles north and south of a line from 70 miles west northwest
of Clayton NM to 65 miles east southeast of Borger TX. For a

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 179, 180
continues.
SUMMARY...Storms developing through northwest Texas will continue to
pose a threat for damaging wind and large hail through 05Z.
DISCUSSION...Overall trend has been for storms moving southeast and
entering northwest TX to weaken. Another cluster of more discrete
cells is moving northward, and the outflow from these two clusters
should merge by 0430Z. Some intensification may occur, at least
temporarily, during the merger with damaging wind and large hail
remaining the primary threats. After the merger, storms might
reorganize and continue developing southeast along a consolidated
outflow boundary. However, uncertainty exists regarding how severe
storms will be, especially given weak forcing aloft and increasing
convective inhibition with respect to near surface-based parcels.

...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS OF
THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS...
...SUMMARY...
Scattered strong/severe thunderstorms will continue across portions
of the central and southern Plains this evening. Large hail and
severe wind gusts are the most likely risks.
...Central/Southern Plains...
Early-day convection/MCV that propagated across OK has contributed
to an outflow boundary that is currently draped along the Red River
into the southeast TX Panhandle. This outflow boundary remains
convectively active with several strong/severe thunderstorms noted
from northern Grayson County TX to near CDS to south of AMA. This
corridor may remain active much of this evening as a secondary
cluster/MCS could evolve over northwest TX then propagate
east-southeast, along/south of the Red River. Given these trends,
have extended higher severe probabilities along this corridor to
reflect this possible scenario.
Otherwise, considerable amount of convection is currently noted over
eastern CO. Several robust updrafts continue to exhibit severe hail
cores and this activity should gradually propagate south along the
CO/KS border over the next several hours.
