...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR MUCH OF TX
AND ALSO FOR PORTIONS OF THE MID SOUTH...
...SUMMARY...
Severe thunderstorms capable of large hail and locally strong wind
gusts will be possible this evening over much of Texas.Other
strong storms may continue to affect the Mid-South to lower Ohio
Valley.
...TX...
Widely scattered strong to occasionally severe thunderstorms will
likely continue across Texas for several hours this evening. Large
hail will be the main short-term threat, given steep midlevel lapse
rates and moderate buoyancy, but one or more upscale growing
clusters may develop later this evening, which could locally
increase the threat of severe wind gusts.
...Mid South Vicinity...
Scattered thunderstorms will continue this evening from portions of
the Mid South to the OH Valley. Midlevel lapse rates are relatively
weak, which will continue to limit storm intensity, but effective
shear will remain sufficient for occasional organized cells capable
of gusty winds, marginal hail, and perhaps a brief tornado should
any transient supercell develop.
