...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY...
A few strong thunderstorms will remain possible this evening from
the Ozarks to portions of Lower Michigan, and over the southern New
Mexico/far west Texas region around El Paso.
...Discussion...
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms -- a few which remain
strong at this hour -- continue from the Ozarks to southern Lower
Michigan in the vicinity of the remnant surface baroclinic zone.
However, storms have remained largely sub-severe across this region
today, and with a diurnal decrease in surface-based instability over
the next few hours, severe potential appears likely to further
diminish overall. Therefore, the MRGL risk area is being removed
from this area.
Farther to the southwest, A few stronger storms are ongoing
southwest of El Paso, in northern Mexico, where 1000 to 1500 J/kg
mixed-layer CAPE is indicated. However, much weaker instability on
the U.S. side of the border is correlated with weaker storms per
recent radar, and this should remain the case this
evening/overnight.Therefore, will also remove the MRGL risk area
from the far West Texas vicinity, as well.
