EASTERN NEW YORK AND SOUTHERN VERMONT...
...SUMMARY... A few strong wind gusts or marginal hail remain
possible this evening over parts of the Northeast.
...PA into New England... Scattered storms persist this evening
along and ahead of a cold front from southeast Lower MI across
central NY and into VT, and near a weak convergence zone south of
Lake Erie. 00Z soundings show 20-40 kt westerly midlevel flow with
generally weak low-level winds, but up to 1500 J/kg MLCAPE as seen
on ALB sounding. Storm trends are expected to be down with time
with the loss of boundary-layer heating, resulting in increasing
