However, thunderstorms developing from the Rockies to the Gulf Coast
states may remain capable of producing a few locally strong wind
gusts this evening.

Multicell thunderstorms developing this evening from the Rockies
through the Gulf Coast states persist within a weakly sheared
environment. Thermodynamic profiles with generally modest mid-level
lapse rates and moderate instability will continue to support a few
instances of locally strong wind gusts this evening. However, the
general tendency will be for this activity to undergo a weakening
trend as the surface layer begins to stabilize.
