...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SANDHILLS OF
NEBRASKA...
...SUMMARY...
A localized risk for hail may accompany a thunderstorm or two in
central Nebraska during the overnight.
...Synopsis...
A cold front will continue to progress southeast across OK and the
Ozarks region this evening.Widely scattered thunderstorms near the
front will progress east-southeast within a moist boundary layer.
Although a strong gust may occur with a couple of the stronger
cores, the gradual reduction in buoyancy due to the loss of heating
will lead to storms diminishing in coverage/intensity by later this
evening.
Farther north over NE, isolated thunderstorms are forecast late
tonight as a mid-level shortwave trough --evident this evening in
water vapor imagery over northern WY-- moves into the north-central
Great Plains.Strengthening large-scale ascent and steep mid-level
lapse rates will favor storms developing primarily after 09z.A
localized risk for large hail may occur with the strongest updrafts.
