A few thunderstorms will be possible across the coastal Pacific
Northwest tonight.
...Coastal Northwest...
Scattered, shallow, weak convection continues along the Pacific
northwest coast and immediate near-offshore environment within broader
upper trough. 00z soundings from UIL and SLE exhibit very weak SBCAPE
(around 50 J/kg) but steep surface-6km lapse rates (~8 C/km). This
steep lapse rate environment will continue to support scattered
showers and perhaps a few flashes of lightning within the strongest
updrafts.
