Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this evening along parts of
the West Coast and in the Intermountain West, but no severe threat
is expected.
...DISCUSSION...
Zonal flow is currently in place from the Great Plains to the
Eastern Seaboard, with a cyclonic flow pattern located in the West.
Large-scale ascent and steep mid-level lapse rates ahead of a
western U.S. trough will contribute to isolated thunderstorm chances
from western Oregon and northern California eastward into parts of
the Intermountain West. No severe threat is expected across the
continental U.S. through tonight.
