Key Risks and Affectations for the Next 7 Days
Saturation and Floods (South and West Caribbean): The Caribbean aspects
of Costa Rica (Lemon and North Zone) and Panama (Colón, Bocas del Toro and
the Ngäbe-Buglé Region) will remain under preventive alerts because the soils
already register a critical saturation of up to 809This weekâ€Ös rains will
maintain a high danger of flash flooding, roadswings and river overflows.
Boatship Warning: Adverse maritime conditions are foreseen throughout the
coast of the Central American Caribbean Sea, with waves between 1.5 and 3.1
meters high, limiting or restricting artisanal, tourist or minor fishing
navigation activities.
Local Convective Storms (Pacific Coast): In the north (El Salvador and
Guatemala), where a period of drought and extreme heat dominates by El Niño,
tropical waves will not cause long storms, but extreme daytime radiation will
trigger short but very violent convective storms at the end of the afternoons,
capable of generating destructive wind gusts (micro-reventunes) and falling trees.
