No tropical cyclones or hurricanes are expected to directly threaten Central America tomorrow, Saturday, August 22, 2026. However, the region remains highly vulnerable to intense tropical weather due to active localized disturbances and moisture-laden waves passing through both basins. [1, 2, 3]

* Northwestern Caribbean Sea: A disorganized tropical wave is moving over the northwestern Caribbean toward Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula. The NHC indicates that tropical development is not expected before it moves inland tomorrow (formation chance through 48 hours is low, near 20÷ However, it will dump heavy tropical rainfall and trigger localized thunderstorms across northern Central America. * Central & Eastern Atlantic: Multiple tropical waves are emerging off the coast of Africa. They have a low 10­o 20œhance of development over the next week and pose no immediate threat to the Caribbean or Central American mainland. [1, 6]
