## 🌊 Eastern Pacific 7-Day Outlook
The Pacific basin is highly active, but all major storms are steering entirely away from Central America: [1]
*
* Disturbance South of Mexico (EP93): A broad area of low pressure well south of southwestern Mexico is generating intense shower and thunderstorm activity. It has a high 90hance of cyclone formation over the next 7 days. It is projected to track west-northwest, moving parallel to or completely away from the continent, leaving Central American coastal waters clear. [1, 7, 8]
* Distant Active Storms: The NHC continues to issue advisories on Tropical Storm Iselle (far west of Baja California) and Tropical Storm Lala (far north of Hawaii). Due to their vast distance, they have no impact on Central America. [1]
*
## ܠ️ Critical Non-Cyclonic Rain Hazards
The lack of a direct hurricane threat does not equal calm weather. Normal seasonal dynamics will still trigger severe conditions:
*
* Persistent Monsoon Rain: The active placement of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) mixed with passing tropical waves will fuel widespread afternoon severe thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and intense lightning across the Pacific slopes of Costa Rica and Panama.
* Severe Landslide Risk: Regional soil moisture retention remains critically high at 70aturation. Local civil protection authorities warn that typical, non-cyclonic afternoon downpours this week will easily trigger rapid flash flooding and sudden mudslides in mountainous corridors.
