KX4AC Carl : Well, this has been antenna week for me. I have a long wire strung up starting
KX4AC Carl : at the west gable of the house, down along the eves to the back of the house
KX4AC Carl : across the back of the house at about 10 ft and then up to the east gable
KX4AC Carl : peak and then staight down to the ground behind a concrete block fence. Kind
KX4AC Carl : of a weird chopped off V, but a bit over 40 m of wire. I run the wire into
KX4AC Carl : a 9:1 UNUN and immediately into a remote LDG tuner. It is actually working
KX4AC Carl : pretty good. Too low to the ground, but that's about the best I can do.
KX4AC Carl : It tunes to a very good SWR down to about the middle of the 80M band.
KX4AC Carl : I also discovered some tricks with the audio filters on my 991a that help a
KX4AC Carl : lot.
KX4AC Carl :
KX4AC Carl : While tuning around yesterday I caught someone broadcasting SSTV images mid day..
KX4AC Carl : caught some nice pictures. It was either 20m or 40m, don't remember which.
KX4AC Carl :
KX4AC Carl : Today was a bit rainy and we had thunderstorms last night so I disconnected the
KX4AC Carl : antenna for safety. Just reconnected it tonight. Looks like better weather
KX4AC Carl : this comming week
KX4AC Carl :
